Ducie Island (OC-182) should be the next new Entity to be added to the DXCC
List. The Pitcairn Island Amateur Radio Association (PIARA) has applied to
the IARU for membership and the closing date for voting is 15 November. If
PIARA becomes a member society of the IARU, Pitcairn will become a DXCC
"Political Entity" and consequently Ducie Island, which is separated from its
"Parent" (Pitcairn itself) by 350+ kilometres, will became a DXCC "Geographic
Separation Entity".
PIARA has now announced that plans are complete for their expedition to Ducie
Island [425DXN 529]. VP6TC, VP6DB, VP6BK/JA1BK, JF1IST, JA1SLS, K9AJ, K5VT
and FO3BM will be active with a VP6 callsign to be announced when the
operation starts, i.e. at 00.00 UTC on 16 November. The two main frequencies
- 21020 kHz (CW) and 21295 kHz (SSB) - will be used 24 hours a day. Other
prime frequencies include 28495 kHz and 14195 kHz for SSB and 14020 kHz for
CW, but some activity is planned to take place on the other bands (160-6
metres) and on RTTY as well. Bill Avery, K6GNX will be the pilot station,
while the QSL manager (direct and bureau) will be Garth Hamilton, VE3HO. Logs
will be available at http://www.big.or.jp/~ham/dx.html.
A5 - Dave Anderson, KW4DA/A52DA will be active from the Bhutan Ham Centre
between 23 October and 1 November. Dave is part of the A50A team
going to Bhutan for the CQ WW SSB Contest [425DXN 541]; prior to and
following the contest he will be active on all bands CW, RTTY, PSK,
SSB and SSTV. The e-mail address for arranging special modes and

3W - Yuki, JI6KVR reports he is planning to be active from Cham Island in
the South China Sea Coast North group of Vietnam in March 2002.

9A - Branko, 9A3AY and Ivo, 9A4AO plan to operate (on 20, 15 and 10
metres SSB) from the following Croatian islands in the Dalmatia
South IOTA group (EU-016) on 13-14 October: Jakljan (CI-033),
Kolocep (IOCA CI-038), Lastovo (CI-051), Lopud (CI-057), Mljet
(CI-068) and Sipan (CI-122). [TNX 9A6AA]
9G - W7XU, K5AND and W0SD will be operating from Elmina, Ghana between 27
October and 4 November. They will emphasize 6 metres, but activity
is expected to take place on 80-10 metres as well, especially RTTY

C6 - Five members of the Magnolia DX Association (namely Ernie/W5OXA,
Randy/W5UE, Alan/ N5PA, Stan/K5NY and Bernie/KK5EW) will be active
from Abaco Island (NA-080), Bahamas on 22-29 October. They will
participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as C6AKO (QSL via W5OXA).
Before the contest they plan to be active as homecall/C6A on all
bands SSB, CW and perhaps RTTY. QSLs for pre-contest activity is via

FM - Dan/IV3TDM, Luca/IV3JVJ and Andrea/IV3BTY will operate as
FM/homecall from Martinique on 22-26 October before joining Dennis,
FM5GU and his team for the CQ WW DX SSB Contest [425DXN 543]. They
will emphazize SSB, but Luca should also operate some RTTY and

FO - Marcel, FO0DEH/ON4QM is still active from Napuka (OC-094) and he
will not be going to Pukapuka (OC-062) until November. QSL via home

FO_aus - Eli, HA9RE will be active (with 100 watts on 160-10 metres, WARC
bands included) as FO0ARE/A from Rurutu (OC-050), Austral Islands
between 17 October and 5 November, CQ WW SSB Contest included. QSL
direct only with 2 USD via HA8IB (Karoly Szabo, Fuzesgyarmat, Aradi
U. 42, 5525, Hungary).
FO_mar - SP9FIH and SQ9LR now expect to operate from Nuku Hiva (OC-027),
Marquesas Islands [425DXN 543] between 24 October and 10 November.
Look for FO/SP9FIH on 6-80 metres SSB only. QSL via SP9FIH (Janusz

FY - F1HAR, F5HRY, F5MZN, F5OIH, F6HLC, FY5FU and FY5FY will participate
in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest (27-28 October) as FY5KE (Multi-Single)

G - The Cray Valley Radio Society will air the special callsign GB8ST
from the Crown Woods Festival of Science & Technology in Eltham,
South East London from 7 UTC to 16 UTC on 14 October. QSL via G4DFI.

GM - Leo, W3LEO reports he will once again be active as MM0LEO from
Portpatrick in southwest Scotland from about 14 October to 17
November, including an entry in the CQ WW SSB Contest. QSL via

H4 - Allan, VK2GR will be active (on 15, 20 and 40 metres CW, PSK31 and
SSB) in his spare time as H44MA from Malaita Island (OC-047) in the

HB0 - Laci/HA0HW, Tomi/HA4DX and Geza/HA4XG will be operating (with three
stations on CW, SSB and possibly RTTY) as HB0/HA0HW/p, HB0/HA4DX/p
and HB0/HA4XG/p from Triesenberg (1100m a.s.l.), Liechtestein on
17-25 October. QSL via home calls either direct or through the

HS - The E29AL operation from Tarutao Island (AS-126) [425DXN 518] has
now been rescheduled to take place on 8-15 December. The operators
(E20HHK, E20NTS, E20RRW, E21EIC, HS0GBI, HS0XNO, HS0ZCW/K4VUD,
HS0/G3NOM, HS1CKC, HS4BPQ and HS9EQY) will be active on all bands
(except WARC) and modes (CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31, SSTV, FM) with 100
watts. Look for them on the usual IOTA frequencies plus 14086,
21086, 28086 kHz (RTTY); 14070, 21070, 28070 kHz (PSK31); 14230,
21340, 28680 kHz (SSTV); 1834 and 3524 kHz. QSL via HS0GBI

SSB, CW and RTTY with an emphasis on the WARC bands) from
Pantelleria Island (AF-018, IIA TP-001, Zone 33) on 22-26 October.
Some operation on 6 metres is also being planned. QSLs via IN3XUG

JA - Look for JI1PLF/1 , 7N1GNK/1 and 7N4PVR/1 to operate (on 10-80

call) to be active (on all bands, 6 metres included, CW, SSB,
PSK-31, RTTY, HELL and MMTTY) from Dominica (NA-101) on 23-30
October. They will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest

KH - Tommy, VK2IR will be active as KH*/VK2IR from Hawaii and Midway

KH2 - Guam Contest Club members JI3ERV/NH2C, JH7QXJ, JR7OMD/WI3O,
JE8KKX/AH2K and JH0USD/KH2VO will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB

LU - Operators from Radio Club Mar Del Plata (LU2DT) will be active as
LS2D from Isla Verde (40 miles south of Bahia Blanca) on 23-25
November. Look for them on CW (3510, 7005, 14020, 21020, 28020 and
50110 kHz) and SSB (3680, 7080, 14190, 21290, 28400 and 50110 kHz).

PY - Look for PS8HF/p and PS8NF/p to be active (on 10-40 metres SSB and
CW) from Grande de Santa Isabel Island (SA-025, DIB 19) until 15 UTC

PY0_tri- The ZW0TB and ZW0TW operation from Trindade [425DXN 513], originally

SV - A group of Greek amateurs will participate in the Jamboree On The
Air (20-21 October) as J41NIK. Look for them on 10-80 metres SSB and

SV9 - Ben, DL6FBL will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as SV9CVY

T2 - A team of experienced operators (namely Ono/JH7OHF, Ted/JJ1LIB,
Hiko/JN1HOW and Mano/JQ1KNH) will operate from Tuvalu (OC-015) on
1-8 November. They will be active on 160-6 metres SSB, CW and RTTY
as T20T or T22T (on HF bands) and T20SIX (on 6 metres), with three
stations with amplfiers, beams and verticals/dipoles. QSL for HF

TI - Goran, SM4DHF will be active as TI2/SM4DHF from Henry's (TI2HMG) QTH
between 24 October and 4 November, including an entry in the CQ WW
SSB Contest as SOSB (1o, 15 or 20 metres) LP. Before and after the

UA - RM9A is the call Henry, UA9ACJ will be using in SSB contests until

ZK1 - Jan, SM7ETW, who operated as ZK1ETW from Rarotonga Island (OC-013,

JT1CO [425DXN 544]. "A while back I offered my help to obtain JT1CO cards",
he says. "I must now withdraw my offer. I am not nor do I plan to be his QSL
manager. Please no more cards".

EX8W and EX8F since 1999.
