/s/ sip versus /z/ zip
This is a difficult pair for Spanish speakers as they have only the /s/ phoneme.However, [z] cam be found in Spanish words like "mismo". An added difficulty is that /z/ at the end of a word is devoiced, that is, it is somewhere betwen /s/ and /z/.
