Adjectives ending in -ous, -eous, -ious, and -uous

Adjectives ending in -ous, -eous, -ious, and -uous Notice all the suffixes end with a schwa. Listen and repeat. The stress on the nouns and their adjectves are normally on the same syllable but see anxious. Most of the adjectives are pronounced like their noun counterparts but see numbers 6 to 10.

1 Nerve nɜːv

She gets nervous in exams. 'nɜːvəs
