REPROGRAPHY

The library is equipped with the means to obtain a copy of the historic collection for the users interested in. Reproductions will only be made within the Universitat de Valencia Library's preservation policy.

The reprography policy is designed to guarantee the preservation of the collection against handling and exposure to bright light and unadvisable temperatures.

The old collection, including manuscripts, incunabula and newspaper and periodicals are being microfilmed systematically at the library in order to obtain backup copies and to make easier their study by the researchers.

Microfilms and photocopies from microfilm will be provided by the library instead of direct photocopies. For manuscripts, incunabula and 16th to 19th century printed documents direct photocopies are totally banned.

Customers may not reproduce any material supplied for any reason without prior written permission from the Universitat de València. The request must be send to the library’s director at the address showed below, specifying the details of the book/article that is going to be published (academic/commercial purpose, author, title, publisher and probable date of publication) as well as its purpose (research, academic or commercial). Customers wishing to reproduce supplied material should apply to the Biblioteca Histórica de la Universitat de València for the applicable fees (bibhistorica@uv.es).

When an image from the collections of the Biblioteca Histórica is going to be used for a publication the author is committed to indicate in the captions their origin (Biblioteca Histórica, Universitat de València) and to sending us a copy of the document when it is published.

Approval is granted by the Biblioteca Histórica.
