The library is equipped with the means to obtain a copy of the
historic collection for the users interested in. Reproductions
will only be made within the Universitat de Valencia Library's
preservation policy.
The reprography policy is designed to guarantee the preservation
of the collection against handling and exposure to bright light
and unadvisable temperatures.
The old collection, including manuscripts,
incunabula and newspaper and periodicals are being microfilmed systematically
at the library in order to obtain backup copies and to make easier
their study by the researchers.
Microfilms and photocopies from microfilm will
be provided by the library instead of direct photocopies. For manuscripts,
incunabula and 16th to 19th century printed documents direct photocopies
are totally banned.
Customers may not reproduce any material supplied
for any reason without prior written permission from the Universitat
de València. The request must be send to the library’s
director at the address showed below, specifying the details of
the book/article that is going to be published (academic/commercial
purpose, author, title, publisher and probable date of publication)
as well as its purpose (research, academic or commercial). Customers
wishing to reproduce supplied material should apply to the Biblioteca
Histórica de la Universitat de València for the applicable
fees (bibhistorica@uv.es).
When an image from the collections of the Biblioteca
Histórica is going to be used for a publication the author
is committed to indicate in the captions their origin (Biblioteca
Histórica, Universitat de València) and to sending
us a copy of the document when it is published.
Approval is granted by the Biblioteca Histórica.
