Introducció

Els membres del nostre grup d'investigació s'interessen per l'etologia, especialment per la comunicació animal, l'evolució del comportament i la neuroetologia. Des de 1989, la nostra investigació s'ha centrat en diversos temes relacionats amb el comportament i la neurobiologia dels rèptils. La major part de la investigació que realitzem, al laboratori o al camp, utilitza diverses espècies de sargantanes de la família Lacertidae localment abundants. També tenim en curs projectes amb altres lacèrtids (incloent-hi Gallotia galloti de Tenerife), Liolaemus (família Liolaemidae), i amb escarabats de la farina (Tenebrio molitor). També estem interessats en l'estudi de la neurogènesi i la regeneració neuronal des d'una perspectiva comparativa. El grup manté des de fa diversos anys col·laboracions amb investigadors d'altres universitats espanyoles i estrangeres (Portugal, Chile).
