Overview
A different gaze
is a participatory photography project developed with
Santiago Apòstol School students in the Cabanyal
district, most of them from the Gypsy community. Using
the technical, narrative and reflective tools developed
in workshops over a few months, the participants have
made a photographic portrait of their neighbourhood’s
everyday life. A different gaze is ultimately
intended to promote, among the city's social groups, a
new self-generated and unimposed view of a community
threatened by social exclusion
and marginalisation from discourses and representation
in the public sphere.
