DISE is an information and documentation centre specialised
in higher education subjects and youth. Its objective is to gather,
process and distribute information of interest to the university community.
This interest also encompasses more general areas, which contributes
to covering all the informative needs of students and young people.
DISE is organised in three areas: Documentation, which deals with the compilation,
processing and structuring of the information facilitated by both internal and
external sources; Information answers telephone and mail queries; and Distribution
elaborates communication and dissemination instruments, such as the leaflet collection
Infodise.
DISE has information on the following subjects:
• Grants:
grants in force in Spain and abroad, funds offered by different organisms, European
movement programmes for the young, and company placements.
• Courses, seminars and masters: postgraduate and specialisation courses,
doctorate courses, courses abroad, foreign language and culture courses, summer
universities.
• Studies: the curricula of Universitat, validations, studies in foreign
universities, and characteristics of the different degrees.
• Employment: information on official tenders, temporary work abroad, and
job offers.
• Culture and leisure: cultural supply, travel and holidays. Information
about leisure and cultural activities.
• Accommodation: halls of residence, flats, and legal information on rental
matters.
Everybody can have access to the DISE information personally,
having a look at the notice boards and folders -classified by subjects-,
or directly asking the informers. Telephone and mail enquiries are
also dealt with. There is also an electronic information service accessible
on the Internet: www.uv.es/dise
The work carried out by DISE in the selective dissemination of the information
is noteworthy. The information is distributed in the Universitat centres, youth
information centres, secondary schools, and information services from all the
Spanish universities.
There are three DISE offices, one in the Blasco Ibáñez campus,
one in Burjassot-Paterna, and the most recent one in the Tarongers campus.
Together with the Language Service, DISE organises the programme Get to know
Universitat, a communication initiative addressed to future university students
including guided tours in the campuses and degree information sessions.
