Government and representation organsThe University CouncilThis is the maximum representation organ in University of Valencia. It consists of the Chancellor, who presides the council over, the manager, and 300 members distributed as follows:
- 38 represenatives of the remaining lecturers and researchers; - 77 student representatives; - 31 representatives of the administration and service personnel.
The Managing Board
This is the accredited governing body of University. It is made up of the chancellor, the secretary general, the manager, and 50 university community members, from whom 5 represent the students in the University Council and 3 are Social Council members not belonging to the university community.

The university community is integrated into the Social Council through the managing board representatives, in this case the chancellor, the secretary general, the manager, and other board members in the number set by the law and chosen by absolute majority. The representation ensures the presence of members of the researcher and lecturer staff, students, and the administration personnel.
These members are renewed every other year and when their lose their status as managing board members.
The duties of the Social Council are as follows:
- Supervise the economic and administrative activities of University.
- Promote the contribution, by society, of resources for the funding of University.
- Raise suggestions and proposals to the Managing Board aimed at improving University quality and response to cultural, professional, economic, and social demands.
- Accept suggestions and proposals from the Managing Board to meet the previous goals and exercise their legitimate powers where applicable and taking into consideration the initiatives by the Managing Board.

The Claims Tribunal is an organ which deals with any complaint or claim reporting the breach of the legality or any damage to the legitimate interests of the plaintiff in his/her relationship with University, even if strict breach of the legality has not occurred.
In the development of its functions, the Claims Tribunal can:
- Demand, on its own behalf or on behalf of one of the parties, all the relevant information for the accomplishment of its objectives.
- Pass on reports to the University Council, and if applicable, proposals for damage compensation.
- Manage, before the suitable bodies, the corrections of faults observed in their practice.- Request the corresponding university organ to compensate any legitimate damage.
- Propose a vote of censorship to the University Council against the organ or authority which –despite the sanctions- does not amend its conduct.

These are the union organs of University of Valencia:
- Organisation Committee: it represents the employees. It consists of 21 delegates.
- Administration and Service Personnel Board; it represents the civil workers It has 21 members.
- Lecturer/Researcher Board: 23 members.
The union organs gather together delegates chosen in the union polls who represent different organisations present at University: Comisiones Obreras (CCOO), Confederación General del Trabajo (CGT), Central Sindical Independiente y de Funcionarios (CSIF), Sindicato de Trabajadores de la Enseñanza del País Valencia- Intersindical Valenciana (STEPV-IV) y Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT).
