The Central Service for the Support to Experimental Research (SCSIE)
The instruments of SCSIE allow technical research in fields such as X-ray spectroscopy, electronic microscopy, gas chromatography, high resolution mass spectrometry, molecular spectroscopy, protein and DNA sequencing, nuclear magnetic resonance, surface analysis and atomic spectroscopy, and cellular cultures. The central services encompasses the following sections: biocomputing; DNA chips laboratories; cell cultures; atomic, molecular, and optical spectroscopy; mass spectrometry; X ray spectroscopy; greenhouse; electronic microscopy; environmental radioactivity; nuclear magnetic resonance; DNA and protein sequencing; glass blowing workshop. The DNA and protein section conforms to the AENOR certificate E and to the quality standard UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000.

SCSIE was created in 1993 to take over the Microscopy and Spectroscopy
Services. Some of its primordial objectives are to rationalise and
facilitate the use of technical instruments, to diversify its services
and offer its resources to research and development of small and medium-sized
Valencian companies or public organisms. The technical resources of
this service permit to resolve problems of characterisation and analysis
of raw materials, evaluation and optimisation of industrial processes,
quality control and assessment of environmental impacts, etc.
