Medical Research Central Unit (UCIM)

The Medical Research Central Unit is a Universitat service available to the Valencian society equipped with instrumental techniques and facilities with a preferential application in the medical and clinical sector.

At present, the Service has three units:

- General laboratories. Laboratories for flow cytometrics, cell cultures, molecular biology, and high resolution liquid chromatography.

- Radioactive isotope laboratories. Licensed by the Nuclear Energy Board, these beta and gamma radiation rooms are also equipped with suitable protection systems for handling and dissolving isotopes.

- Animalarium. It includes facilities for the cure of small and medium-sized mammals to be used in medical clinical tests; It also has two operation theatres suitably equipped for experimental surgery.
