University housing (single rooms and apartments are potentially available, though

its own hotel where people might stay for a few days or a week while
looking for other housing).
Off-campus housing. There are also many off-campus options in Portland . See for instance http://portland.craigslist.org/sub/
Interested students/faculty please check first: http://www.pdx.edu/portland.html
If you click on the "Housing" link under the "Living in Portland "
heading on the upper left side of that page, you will find
information about PSU housing options and housing application
procedures. You will also find a "contact us" heading that will tell
you how to reach the housing office directly.
If you click on the "Getting Around" heading on the first page, you will find information on transportation options. Portland has a light rail system, some
street cars, and good buses, so transportation without a car is very
good for an American city.
By entering " Portland State University , Broadway Ave , Portland , OR " in the search box of http://maps.google.com/ they can find the location of any part of the city relative to the university.

Students/faculty will need a passport that will be valid for the duration of the visit. PSU classifies visiting graduate students as "Visting Research Scholars" and visiting faculty as "Visting Faculty" to put them in a category that allow relatively easy approval of visas ("J-1" visas) and entry into the U.S.A.
After the communication of your selection as an action 3 exchange student/faculty you should send to the coordination team by mail the following documents: scholar request form and a copy of your passport scanned.
This information will be sent to the PSU International
Studies office. They will process it, certify it, and return it to you by post for presentation to the U.S. embassy or a U.S. Consolate in your home country , which will issue the visas.
See annex scholar request form
As soon as you decide to do the exchange please make sure your passport is valid for those dates
Students will be selected according to the amount of credits accomplished at the time of the application for the mobility grants and the marks obtained in WOP. Since partnership is established with only one third-country institution all selected grantees will attend the Portland State University
Scholars applying for a mobility grant will be selected by CV and the evaluation of the work plan presented. The plan must offer information about the course or courses they could offer at the third-country partner institution and those extant courses at the Portland State University in which they could collaborate. Moreover the plan must include also the research activities and/or educational innovation activities that will be held on with PSU's personnel. Concretion of the PSU's staff with whom the collaboration will take place will be positively valued.
