Erasmus Mundus programme in the European Union

Aquired competencies

The model of competences to be acquired by the students of the Erasmus-Mundus Master in Work, Organizational and Personnel Psychology takes into account the proposal developed by the Europsych Project devoted to design the European Diploma of Psychology, and adapted by Prof Robert Roe to WOP Psychology.
So, the Master Programme aims to develop four types of competences as learning outcomes:

  1. Basic Competences
  2. Proffessional Competences
  3. Enabling competences
  4. Research competences
  1. Basic Competences: They include competence in areas of using information technology, oral and written communication, and working with numbers. All these competences are really relevant during the process of learning and they will facilitate the building of the professional competences.
  2. Proffessional Competences: These are specific competencies required for an adequate role performance in the different areas of the profession of WOP psychologists. There are twenty core competences grouped in six roles for the performance of professional activities in the context of work and organizational psychology:

    1. Goal specification
    2. Assessment
    3. Development
    4. Intervention
    5. Evaluation
    6. Communication
  3. Enabling competences: These sets of competencies are not specific to WOP Psychologists. They are shared with other professions and providers of services. However, they are required in WOP Psychologists in order to provide quality in their services: professional strategy, practice management.
  4. Research competences: Following the scientist-practitioner model, the Master adds a fourth block of competences. It is assumed that a good training of work and organizational psychologists requires the development of research competences.

FAQ: Will WOP-P graduates be entitled to membership of the "European Federation of Psychological Associtions (EFPA)" and the "European Cerfiticate in Psychology"?

Answer: This program follows the model of competences established by EFPA for awarding the europsy. The master's diploma follows the education requirements of Europsy. However, in addition, Europsy requires a year of supervised practice after graduates finish your studies. More info
