The 5th General Conference of the European Society of International Law at the University of Valencia with the collaboration of the Centro de Estudios de Derecho y Relaciones Internacionales (CEDRI)

EUROPEAN SOCIETY OF INTERNATIONAL LAW (ESIL)

ESIL was founded in 2001, in response to a need for a general European network that brings together European international lawyers and to develop deeper understanding among all of those working in the field of international law, be they government officials, diplomats, legal advisors in international organizations, academics, or practising lawyers. ESIL aims to contribute to the rule of law in international relations and to promote the study of public international law.

Membership of ESIL is open to all those with an interest in international law and in contributing to the realisation of the goals of the Society. No limitations of nationality or qualification as to professional or scholarly status apply. For more information or to join the Society please visit ESIL.

UNIVERSITY OF VALENCIA

The local organizer is the University of Valencia in collaboration with the Centro de Estudios de Derecho y Relaciones Internacionales (CEDRI). Founded in 1499, the University of Valencia (UVEG) has become a modern state university offering teaching in every area of knowledge: experimental sciences; engineering; health sciences; humanities; social, economic and legal sciences; and educational sciences. The University has 45,800 degree students and 8,600 postgraduate students. On our campuses (Blasco Ibañez, Burjassot-Paterna and Els Tarongers), over 3,300 teachers and researchers carry out their work, aided by over 1,700 administration and services staff.

The organizing committee in Valencia is headed by Professors Mariano J. Aznar, Jorge Cardona and Carlos Espósito. The conference assistants are Ms Isabel Maravall and Ms Hela Ben Hadj M'Barek. The organizers can be contacted at esil2012@uv.es.

CEDRI

The Centro de Estudios de Derecho internacional y de relaciones internacionales (CEDRI) includes various experts in the field of public international law and international relations. Among its members are professors and researchers from different Spanish universities (Jaume I de Castellón, Universidad Cardenal Herrera-CEU, University of Valencia) and abroad (University of Cergy-Pontoise in France, University of Dundee in the United Kingdom, University of Milan, Italy) as well as technical experts linked to different government agencies.
