Research

I was born in Valencia in 1961. I attained my M.D. title in 1985 and my Ph. D. degree in 1986, both at the University of Valencia. I have been working at different Universities: In 1986 Oxford University (Metabolic Research Laboratory, UK), in 1989 I won a NATO fellowship to work in the Department of Physiology at Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA) and in 2000 I visited the Department of Physiology at the Chicago Medical School (North Chicago, Ill., USA) as an invited professor.

I am now professor of Physiology in the Department of Physiology, University of Valencia. I am married and have two daughters and a son.

My research interest is devoted to the regulation of cell cycle and apoptosis by oxidative stress.
