Research
I
attained a degree in Sport Sciences in 2002. During my time
at the University of Milan I worked in different
laboratories. I collaborated with the Department of Bioimágenes
and Molecular Physiology (IBFM, National Council of Research
(CNR), Segrate) in different research activities tutored by
Prof P. Mognoni, PhD. The following year I participated with
the Department of Sciences and Biomedical Technologies (I.T.B.A.)
in the carried out project: “Physical frailty and loss of
functional independence in old age: determinates and
adaptations to physical activity”, funded by the European
Community and tutored by Dr. A. Ferri, PhD.
I
also participated in the development of a project regarding
the variation of the heart rate and body temperature in
athletes subjected to training at different times of the
day, financed with FIRST funds and tutored by F. Carandente,
MD.
Since
then I have been living in Spain, working on my doctoral
thesis under the guidance of Prof J. Viña, MD, PhD. at
the Department of Physiology, University of Valencia. My
research interests are focused on physical exercise and
diabetes. I was granted a scholarship by the Department of
Sports Activities, Polytechnic University of Valencia,
working on a European project "My Heart Virtual
Trainer", funded by Philips Inc.
I
have been a physical trainer of the Valencia female handball
team since the 2003 season. I really like doing sports and
my favourite sports are running and cycling.
