You can use this applet to simulate the arrival of light beam to a mirror or a lens.

Instructions

In the lower part you can choose among a mirror or a lens.
In the upper part you can choose among a punctual source, a beam or an object.
In the lower part, selecting Opening, you can apply a diaphragm that limits the number of rays that pass toward the mirror or toward the lens.
Pressing "Clear all " the mirror, the lens and the object that emits (beam, object or source) are erassed. Pressing on " Clear active " the last selected device is erased.
Select a mirror to utilize the applet as simulation of a mirror. A cross is formed, drag it at the interior of the applet, and clik in the point where want to place the mirror. Press in the white points that appear to both sides of the mirror and dragging them, you can change the curvature, and pressing in the center and dragging, can displace it.
Select source and press in front of the mirror. This will create divergent rays. You can avoid that some ray arrive to the mirror pressing on Aperture.
