HINTS is an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) specifically designed for learning arithmetic and algebraic Word Problem Solving. This ITS continuosly records information about each user to adapt interaction and offer the best support. The functioning and success of the ITS have been extensively reported in several top scientific publications. HINTS development spans over a decade and gathers the experience of experts in didactics and machine learning, who have combined their skills to go beyond the state-of-the-art. Yes, there are alternatives... but they are technologically far from us!
The Spanish Ministry of Education has funded the use of HINTS to advance teaching arithmetic and algebraic word problem solving. The project was evaluated with the maximum qualification.
We claim that our system is even better than a personal tutor. This statement is supported by scientific evaluations that have been published in some of the best scientific journals in the area.
We have actively and intensively collaborated with international partners in the UK to ensure that the most recent technology is incorporated into our product. HINTS is the result of an extensive collaboration between research groups dedicated to the topic.
We developed the product with a hope to contribute to education in Maths, and have not kept any secrets to ourselves. The technology we have used has been published in top scientific journals.
