Hypotheses on human evolution

There are still many uncertainties about human evolution. Here some hypotheses:

Initially prepared in 2009 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth (February 12, 1809) and 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species (November 24, 1859). Updated several times since then.

"I am sorry to have to inform you that I do not believe in the Bible as a divine revelation, & therefore not in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Yours faithful" Ch. Darwin [letter written in Nov. 1880]

0. In his 1863 Evidence as to Man's Place in Nature, Darwin's friend Thomas Huxley exaggerated the size of the Gibbon while presenting the anatomical argument explicit in the above frontispiece.
