WELCOME
The Laboratory
for Research in Experimental Economics at the University of Valencia
(Lineex) and the Instituto de Análisis Económico (IAE) a center of the
Spanish Highest Council for Scientific Research, CSIC) jointly sponsor
the 1st European Workshop on
Experimental and Behavioral Economics (EWEBE), organized by Jordi Brandts (IAE) and Enrique Fatas (LINEEX
and University of Valencia). The local committee members are Sara Godoy,
Hector Solaz, J. Alberto Pérez, M Jesús Carrión, Lluís Llopis and Laura
Sanz. The conference dates are December 14-15, 2006. Organizers
gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Spanish Ministry of
Science and Education, the University of Valencia, the Department of
Applied Economics, the Laboratory for Research in Experimental Economics
LINEEX) and the Economic Analysis Institute (CSIC).
PROGRAM
The meeting intends to promote research on
behavioral and experimental economics and it includes a limited number of
special sessions by key researchers on the topic. We are proud of
welcoming the following invited speakers: Prof. Robin Hogarth (Univerisity Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona),
Prof. Benedikt Herrmann (University of Nottingham), Prof. Marie
Claire Villeval (University of Lyon), Prof. Klaus Abbink (CREED, Amsterdam), Prof. Marc Willinger
(University of Montpellier), Prof. Giovanni Ponti (University of
Alicante), Prof. Sjaak Hurkens (Economic Analysis Institute, CSIC), Prof.
Antonio Morales (University of Málaga) and Prof. Nikos
Georgantzis (University Jaume I, Castellón).
INFORMATION
The
venue will be the new LINEEX, a brand new laboratory for research in
experimental and behavioral economics. LINEEX is right now one of the
largest laboratories in Europe. Its main
room is equipped with 64 computers in isolated cubicles. Six powerful
servers are used to run the experiments in different programming
languages (including C++, Java and dynamic data bases).
In
the next days, specific information regarding the sessions will be
provided to all presenters and attendants.
