“Advanced Sciences of Modern Telecommunications”

Basic Structure

The Master is taught in English and it requires to cover a minimum of 60 ECTS of courses. The distribution of the 60 ECTS is as follows:

  • 25 ECTS of Core courses
  • 25 ECTS to be selected from an offer of courses that are structured in three Tracks: Advanced Communications, Advanced Networks and Multimedia Communications.
  • 10 ECTS of Master Thesis.

Each academic year is distributed in three quarters:
1st Quarter (October-December)
2nd Quarter (January-March)
3rd Quarter (April-July)

During the third Quarter, the student will carry out a research work (Master Thesis) of 10 ECTS under the supervision of a professor and in the University where the student decides.

In order to ensure a correct level of the students entering the Master, a tutor assigned to each student, will be able to recommend them to take (if necessary) several bridge courses before starting the Master. A rich set of bridge courses is provided both at UPF and UVEG.

In addtion to the regular courses that will be offered, there is also a set of research topics available for the students undertaking their Master Thesis. These topics allow for both fundamental and applied research, as well as technology transfer, depending on the case . These research directions will be availabe for two purposes: a) research work to be done during the Master Thesis, b) for those students deciding later to pursue a PhD. within the Doctoral Program "Information Technologies, Communications and Computational Mathematics" of Universitat de València or the Doctoral Program "Information, Communication and Audiovisual Technologies", where the Master Thesis will be ideally a preliminary work for the subsequent PhD. research.

This is a preliminary list of updated generic research topics that are available for the students

This Master is also part of the Activity Program of the CONSOLIDER Project "COMONSENS"

"Foundations and Methodologies of Future Communication and Sensor Networks" (Consolider CSD2008-00010)
