Basic Structure
The Master is taught in English and it requires to cover
a minimum of 60 ECTS of courses. The distribution of the 60 ECTS is as
follows:
- 25 ECTS of Core courses
- 25 ECTS to be selected from an offer of courses that are structured in three Tracks:
Advanced Communications, Advanced Networks and Multimedia Communications.
- 10 ECTS of Master Thesis.
Each academic year is distributed in
three quarters:
1st Quarter
(October-December)
2nd Quarter (January-March)
3rd Quarter (April-July)
During the third
Quarter, the student will carry out a research work (Master Thesis) of
10 ECTS under the supervision of a professor and in the University
where the student decides.
In order to ensure a correct level of the students
entering the Master, a tutor assigned to each student, will be able to
recommend them to take (if necessary) several bridge courses before
starting the Master. A rich set of bridge courses is provided both at
UPF and UVEG.
In addtion to the regular courses that will be
offered, there is also a set of research topics available for the
students undertaking their Master Thesis. These topics allow for both
fundamental and applied research, as well as technology transfer,
depending on the case . These research directions will be availabe for
two purposes: a) research work to be done during the Master Thesis, b)
for those students deciding later to pursue a PhD. within the Doctoral
Program "Information Technologies, Communications and Computational
Mathematics" of Universitat de València or the Doctoral Program
"Information, Communication and Audiovisual Technologies", where the
Master Thesis will be ideally a preliminary work for the subsequent
PhD. research.
