- PATHMEDA:
Pathogen
Research in Mediterranean Aquaculture
- A Marie Curie
Fellowship for the Transfer of Knowledge
- Research
on pathogens in Mediterranean finfish aquaculture is less well advanced
than in North Atlantic waters. A shorter tradition of industrial aquaculture
and usually weaker R&D structures in Mediterranean countries are factors probably accounting for this unbalance.
- Efforts to
diversify
Mediterranean aquaculture imply the use of new finfish species whose
pathogens
are still poorly known. In order to advance knowledge of
these
pathogens,
PATHMEDA
was launched on November 2005 and ran until October 2009.
- The fellowship is no longer active but this web page serves the purpose of briefly informing, both the general
public and the scientific community, about its activities and
achievements.
- We hope that you find here a good overview of the project but do not hesitate to e-mail us if you need additional information.
