SIMUVEG Driving Simulator
The
SIMUVEG Driving Simulator is an
advanced system specially designed to
represent realistic scenes in an immersive environment. The simulator was developed by the
SINTEC research group of INTRAS and its scientific
equipment was
subsidized by the University of Valencia.
This system is based on a large 160-degree screen lit by
three 2000 lumens XGA projectors. The driving cockpit is a full Renault
Twingo car which has been modified by the addition of different
sensors in its main operational parts. It also has an 5.1 audio
system connected to a PC that generates 3D sound and doppler
effects. But the most important part of the system is the graphic
workstation, it mainly carries out the generation of
real-time 3D images according to the car sensor data.
The simulador has been used as the main tool in numerous projects with public institutions and private companies.
