Location.  How to get there

Location

65 Km south of Valencia and 116 Km north of Alicante, Gandia is the administrative centre of the La Safor county, an area encompassing 31 towns and more than 150,000 inhabitants. The proximity and multiple relations among the towns make La Safor comparable to an urban area or a disperse city surrounded by green orchards mostly devoted to orange crops.

The so-called Central Counties (La Costera, la Vall d'Albaida, el Comtat, l'Alcoiá, la Marina Alta, la Marina Baja together with La Safor) share many similarities and traditionally complement one another, making up a suitable map for the development of a really fruitful tourist model.

With Gandia on the lead and right at the core of the so-called Spanish Mediterranean Arch, La Safor is the most important socioeconomic development area in Spain and one of the regions with the greatest growth and expansion prospects in the European Union. The county definitely benefits from this strategic location.

The average temperature of the area results from mild winters and moderately hot summers, this being typical of the Mediterranean climate.
