To give students the chance to undertake part of their studies at a different university, Spanish universities that belong to the CRUE have set up a student mobility programme called the Spanish University Student Exchange Programme. These Universities sign agreements within degree programmes as well as for a specific number of places and time periods.

Through this exchange programme, students at Spanish universities may undertake part of their studies at a different university with a guarantee of academic recognition and achievement as well as adaptation to their curricular profile.

This programme takes into account the educational value of the exchange by enabling students to experience different educational systems, including work placements/internships, as well as social and cultural aspects from other regions and cities.

Requirements to take part in the University of Valencia SICUE programme

If you would like to study at the University of Valencia as a student in the SICUE programme:

  • The first step is the make sure that a bilateral agreement exists between your home university and the University of Valencia in the degree programme you wish to study here.
  • Your university needs to inform us that you have been selected as a SICUE exchange student.

Instructions to help you once you arrive in Valencia
If you have been selected to study at our university, please check this quick guide to help you with the administrative procedures and requirements you need to fulfill at different times.
 


First step: Arrival

If you are a Sicue student coming to the Blasco Ibáñez Campus or the Tarongers Campus, you should present yourself at the International Relations Office, Avenida Menéndez Pelayo, 3, Ground Floor, 46010 Valencia, to register your arrival as soon as you get to Valencia. (If you are a Sicue student coming to the Burjassot Campus, you should present yourself at the International Relations Office located inside the Library Building "Biblioteca de Ciències" at Burjassot Campus, Avenida Doctor Moliner, 50, 46100 Burjassot.) Please bring a photograph and your identity card or passport, and you will be provided with a provisional student card and some other useful information about the University.

Classes begin mid-September. It is a good idea to come to Valencia in advance. Your visit to our office will be your first contact with the Universitat de València.


Second step: Confirmation of your study contract

Your academic coordinator will help you deal with academic issues and prepare and/or confirm your study contract. Please bring an initial proposal signed by your academic coordinator at your university. Check the list of academic coordinators at the University of Valencia.


Third step: Enrolment

The school or faculty at your home university will have provided you with instructions to enrol in the subjects that you wish to study at the University of Valencia. This enrolment is usually done one or two weeks after classes have begun so that you are sure about which subjects to take, but you have the opportunity to attend all classes that you are interested in until you enrol.

Remember that you are required to enrol for at least 50% of the credits in the same area and school or faculty in which you have been assigned by your university. The remaining credits may belong to other areas (check availability in each faculty).

In some cases you may need to bring two passport photos (3x3 cm) and a photocopy of your passport or ID for your permanent student card, which gives you access to all library services and discounts in some activities (sports, theatres, museums, etc.). You will also receive a username and password to access your email account, the virtual classroom and other online services. Previously, you will be given a form to go to the bank (Bankia or another financial institution) and pay an administrative fee of around 8 euros.


Opening hours

Opening hours at the International Relations Office and the administration offices at the faculties and schools are 9:00-14:00, Monday to Friday. Academic coordinators have their own office hours. Please check their offices and at the administration office at the department where the classes are taught.


Accommodation

The University of Valencia has no accommodation service. The SEDI (Information Service) maintains a catalogue with information about lodging in Valencia and in Burjassot open to students. This catalogue may be obtained at the SEDI offices or by sending an email to allotjament@uv.es. End of attendance

By the time you end your stay at the Universitat de València, just before your departure, you should pick up your certificate of attendance personally at the International Relations Office, Avenida Menéndez Pelayo, 3, Ground Floor 46010 Valencia.
