A session in Gandia analyses discrimination problems and behaviour against minority

The International Centre of Gandia, the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation of the Universitat de València and the Association of Gay and Lesbian Police Officers (GAYLESPOL) have organised, on 29 April, the 3rd session ‘Police, Diversity and Rights’, with the objective of analysing discrimination problems and behaviours which present hate as a motivating element against people who are member of minorities.

The session will be about the diversity as a fact that currently it is one of the main characteristics of the social environment and an added value. 

Conducted by the professor in International Law of the Universitat de València Roberto Pérez Salom and by the delegate of GAYLESPOL in the Valencian Community, Ernest Andújar, the session has the collaboration of the Institute of Criminal Sciences and Criminology and of the Institute of Human Rights, both of the Universitat de València.

The session will be opened at 9:00, by representatives and authorities of the Valencian Government, and will start with the talk ‘La lucha por los derechos’ (Fighting for rights), by the full university professor of Legal Philosophy ans Political philosophy of the Universitat de València Javier de Lucas.

After that, there will be three round tables entlitled ‘Delitos de odio y derecho de las sexualidades’ (Hate crimes and the rights of sexualities), ‘La lucha contra los delitos de odio y discriminación por motivos de orientación sexual’ (The fight againts hate crimes and discrimination for sexual orientation reasons) and ‘Diversidad sexual, sociedad y derechos’ (Sexual diversity, society and rights). In the round tables will participate full university professors of the Universitat de València, representatives of Local and Province Police, and representatives of the association, like GAYLESPOL.

To finish, will take place a talk by Carla Antonelli, member of the Assemble of Madrid for PSOE, and with the intervention of the writer and journalist Fernando Delgado.
