Ceremony for the grant.

The initiative ‘Emergents’, organised by Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality of the UV with the collaboration of the Obra Social “la Caixa” and the General Foundation of Universitat de València, is financially supported by SGAE Foundation in order to develop residences of theater Creador.es and the documentary project Live Music Valencia.

First call for these projects started in 2015 with the aim of encouraging and promoting innovative practices in the sociocultural field in Valencia from the most different disciplines: visual and performing arts or technologies.

The awards ceremony, which took place on 24 June, was attended by Antonio Ariño (Vice-Principal for Culture and Equality of the UV), Pep Llopis (president of SGAE Valencian Council) and Roberto García (member of SGAE Valencian Council); as well as the awarded Gabriel Ochoa (Creador.es) and Andrea Goytre (Live Music Valencia), who have respectively explained to the media their awarded projects.

Creador.es is an initiative consisting of theater residences which takes place in Valencia since 2013 under the direction of playwright Gabriel Ochoa. The next edition of Creador.es will take place in September and a number of 15 playwrighters will be able to develop their own projects under the supervision of Argentinian playwrighter Romina Paula. The programme also includes several talks, shows and teaching activities.

Live Music Valencia is a cultural association which attempts to create a documentary gathering the situation of the music sector in Valencia through the testimony of its main protagonists: musicians, sound technicians, promoters, venue agents, record labels... As a meeting point for music professionals, the documentary tries to build bridges of communication among them to analyse the condition of the sector, and to elaborate proposals and solutions to their problems from that.
