The Universitat de València holds, this tuesday, 9 February, at 19 o`clock, the second round table of the cycle “A dónde va Europa” that Cañada Blanch Foundation celebrates in the Centre Cultural La Nau. The debate will count with the interventions of José Mª de Areilza, general secretary of Spanish ASPEN Institute Foundation and José Ignacio Torreblanca, director of the office in Madrid of the European Council on Foreign Relations and it will be moderated by the full university professor Juan Viña. The event will be presented by the president of Cañada Blanch Foundation, Juan López-Trigo.
José Ignacio Torreblanca is tenured teacher of the Department of Political and Social Sciences and of the The National Distance Education University (UNED). He has been grant holder of Fulbright Programme European Union-United States, professor in George Washington University in Washington D.C, as well as researcher in the European University Institute in Florence. Nowadays, he is main researcher and director of European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).
He is author from different books, chapters in books and articles in magazines regarding to the process of making decisions in the European Union, the extension of Union politics and European politics in Spain.
José María de Areilza Carvajal is specialized in European union Law and is Senior Research Fellow of the Royal Institute Elcano and board member of the European Council on Foreign Relations. Moreover, he is general secretary of Aspen Institute Foundation in Spain and professor and principal of Jean Monnet Chair in ESADE, Universidad Ramón Llull. Graduated in Law with an extraordinary prize in the Universidad Complutense, Master of Laws (LL.M) in Harvard University, Master in International Relations in The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and doctor in law (S.J.D) in Harvard University. In 1991 he was accepted in the The Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
