The Environmental volunteering/Sustainable Campus at Universitat de València, which is promoted from the SeDI and the Health and Safety and the Environment Service, organised a series of activities around the sustainable mobility and bicycles as an ideal means of transport in order to move among the campus and travel around the city.
On 3rd, 4th and 5th March a free Cycle Repair Workshop will be installed, with the collaboration of the TÁNDEM Socio-occupational Centre, so that every student who want to repair their bikes have the chance to do so.
With this campaign, the Environmental volunteering/Sustainable Campus of the Universitat want to claim, support and stand out the use of bicycles as a means of a sustainable and ecological mobility.
Bike repair workshops
On Tuesday 3rd March, the workshop will be installed at Burjassot-Paterna Campus. From 9h to 12h at the ETSE and from 12h to !5h at the central cafeteria terrace of the campus. The workshop will be located at Campus dels Tarongers, from 12h to 15h between the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Teacher Training on Wednesday 4th March. On Thursday 5th March, the workshop will move to Blasco Ibáñez Campus, where it will provide its service for free at the Garden of the Faculty of Philosophy.
Bicycle race
Furthermore, on Thursday 12th March, the Environmental volunteering/Sustainable Campus will invite the entire university community to participate in a collective bicycles race. It will start at 12h from Burjassot and Los Naranjos Campus, going through Blasco Ibáñez and it will arrive to the city centre up to the “mascletà fallera” at 14h at the City Council place.
The Environmental volunteering/Sustainable Campus programme has as its main object to imply the university community in the defence and protection of the environment, management, waste management, energy savings, fair trade and responsible consumption.
