The Universitat de València’s exhibition ‘La Universitat de València i els seus entorns naturals: el Parc Natural de la Serra Calderona’ is an initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation. Marius Fuentes (as organizer) and Jorge Catalá (initiave director) are the main organizers of the showing, which has some of the last years works made by researchers of the Universitat on different disciplines and subject matters.

Around thirty researchers -among biologists, chemists, geographers and art historicians- have collaborated in the organization of the showing. Some topics dealt were botanics, vegetation, fauna, didactics, hydrology, hiking, country and artistic patrimony, local administration, natural resources, etc. The exhibition took place last Friday, the 2nd December, at Segorbe’s cultural centre. The mayor of Segorbe, Rafael Calvo, the general deputy director of environment, Juan Ors, and the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, Jorge Hermosilla, attended the event.

Two lectures were given by the professors María Angels Ull and Eva Barreno about the citizen’s participation in environmental studies and about a cork oak’s recent research. These lectures are part of a series organized by professor Josep Montesinos, who intends to spread environmental and nature reserve topics. The whole initiative is an Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation’s idea, which aims to show exhibitions related to the Valencian nature reserves from a multidisciplinary point of view. Next exhibitions are about L'Albufera nature reserve (16th December, Jardí Botànic) and Parc Fluvial del Turia (January 2012).
