The Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication hosts the Spring Audition of the Choir School La Nau

The room Sanchis Guarner of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication will host the upcoming Spring Audition, offered by the Choir School La Nau of the University of Valencia, on Monday, 25 March. The performance of the musical directed by Monica Perales will begin at 19:00. Admission is free and is limited to the capacity of the room.

 

The members of the Choir School La Nau will offer a public hearing of the work they have done during this course, under the direction of Monica Perales, with Eduard Marquina at the piano, and the support of Immaculate Mirapeix, Head of Music Theory, pedagogical activity takes place in the school, from the age of six, as a complementary tool for a better understanding of music.

 

First, the Cor Mistral act, formed by children from four to six years, who will perform popular songs such as 'Els soldats' and 'El papa de Pepa', and pieces by J. Domènech ('El conill'), H. Von Fallersleben ('La cigonya'), F. Vila ('La nau pirata') and Elena Walsh ('Canción de la vacuna').

This will be followed by Cor Garbí, composed of children aged six to nine years, which will put on stage the tracks 'Totes les monges', by Ramon i Lluch, 'I like the flowers', written anonymously, the American popular theme 'Jean Harlow', 'Hey! Oh!', by B. Britten and M. Martorell, and 'Cançó Forner', by Vila i Casañas.

Older children, aged from ten onwards, are grouped in the Tramuntana Cor, the last group completing the school choirs. They will perform three pieces: the popular song 'Due'me negrito', 'The Lord bless you and keep you' by Rutter, and 'This day', of Chilcott.

The next part of the hearing will be provided by choirs and Tramuntana Garbí that will take the stage together to sing 'Donna donna' by Sh. Secunda and CB Agnesti.

Finally, for the finishing touch the Tramuntana Choir will provide a music session with the interpretation of the gospel 'Joshua Fought the Battle', and 'Lo bailas sin querer' by R. Donado and AM Raga.

The Choir School La Nau, through Patronat d'Activitats Musicals of the General Foundation of the University of Valencia, was created with the aim of helping youngsters to develop their auditory perception as well as their emotional, physical and metal experiences emotional through songs and to awaken a sense of solidarity, which is achieved by listening, watching and living from the whole that choral and teamwork represent.
