Five Nobel awards will participate in open acts, tomorrow on Tuesday, at Universitat de València

Five Nobel awards of different disciplines will participate in open acts, tomorrow on Tuesday, at Universitat de València Eight others will do it in different places of the city. These are: Eric A. Cornell (Physics in 2001), Harold Kroto (Chemistry in 1996), Jean-Marie Lehn (Chemistry in 1987), A. Hershko (Chemistry in1991), R. Korngberg (Chemistry in, 2006), Jerome Friedman (Physics in2001), Frank Wilczek (Physics in 2004), Sheldon Lee Glashow (Physics in 1979), Erwin Neher (Medicine, 1991), Ferid Murad (Medicine 1998), Richard J. Roberts (Medicine in 1993), Werner Arber (Medicine in 1978) y Christopher Pissarides (Economics in 2010).

VLC/campus, the Campus of International Excellence (made up by Universitat de València, Universitat Politècnica de València and the Spanish Research Council (CSIC), will host on the coming Tuesday 2nd of June in the evening, the meeting of excellence organised by the Foundation awards Universitat Jaume I, among students, researchers and Nobel awards which come to Valencia to be part of the jury of the prestigious King Jaume I Awards.

Eric A. Cornell (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_A._Cornell), Physics Nobel 2001, Harold Kroto (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Kroto), Chemistry Nobel 1996, and Jean-Marie Lehn (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Marie_Lehn), Chemistry Nobel 1987, who will find at the Marie Curie Auditory of the Scientific Park of UV at 15:30h, at a discussion in which students and researchers who attend there will have the opportunity to ask questions to the three Nobel prize winners. Event: “Chemistry and Physics for Nanoscience and Medicine”.

Christopher Pissarides (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristóbal_Pissarides), Economics Nobel 2010, will lead a discussion at the boardroom of the Faculty of Economics of UV at 16:30 h. Event: “Old and new views on the unemployment problem in Europe”.

Werner Arber (http://ir.uv.es/pc6K2nT). Nobel in Medicine in 1978, Igenomix (Science Park of Universitat de València) will participate in a panel discussion organised by the enterprise, at 17:30h in the boardroom of the Science Park.

A. Hershko (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avram_Hershko), Chemistry Nobel 1991, and R. Korngberg (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_D._Kornberg), de Chemistry Nobel 2006, will be in the Valencia Biomedical Institute (CSIC) at 16:30h. Event: “Meet the Nobel”.

Jerome Friedman (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerome_Isaac_Friedman), Physics Nobel 1990, Frank Wilczek (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Wilczek), Physics Nobel 2004; and Sheldon Lee Glashow (Physics, 1979) (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheldon_Lee_Glashow), will participate in the excellence meeting organised by the Instrumentation Institute for I3M (CSIC-UPV-CIEMAT) Molecular Image together with the Jaume I Foundation Awards, and which will take place place at the Polytechnic City of the innovation at 16:30h. Event: “Physics Nobel Awards in the UPV”.
