Discussion at Universitat de València on vocational training as an autonomous educational offer

The role of vocational training as an autonomous educational offer is one of the topics that is going to be discussed, between 6 and 8 July, at the 22th International Seminar of Research Network on Vocational Training and Culture, which hosts the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences of Universitat de València.

The topic of the seminar sums up to the title “Formación profesional, ciudadanía y participación: Problematizando las relaciones entre educación, trabajo y política desde perspectivas contemporáneas e históricas” (“Vocational training, citizenship and participation: Burdening with problems on the relationships between education, work and politics from contemporary and historical perspectives”).
 
It will be analysed vocational training as an educational offer with its own identity, as well as its relationship with the rest of stages; the training of a class consciousness; and the actual review of the Welfare State before the increasing expansion of new ways of uncertainty, low quality jobs, and high rates of unemployment.
 
Research teams from the five continents will participate in the seminar: Australia, Africa (Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya), America (Honduras), Asia (Japan), and Europe (Greece, Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Austria, Denmark, and Spain).
