The UV takes part in the project ‘Eeemerging, Emerging European Ensembles’, an initiative aimed at the promotion of the emerging talent in the field of ancient music which is developed as part of ‘Creative Europe’, the current framework programme of the European Committee for the support of the sectors of culture and media

The Department of Research in Culture-based Economy and Tourism (Econcult), which is part of the Interuniversity Institute of Local Development (IIDL), is responsible for assessing the development of the project along with the University of Fine Art of Belgrade and the platform ‘La terre est ronde’ (The Earth is round) of Lyon.

The nucleus of the project is formed by Ambronay, a centre of cultural meetings located in the French region of Ródano-Alpes, and other seven co-organiser entities from all over Europe.

‘Eeemerging’ is an ambitious and large-scale project which will count with the participation of thirty-seven international partners and six professional European networks.

The main purpose of the initiative, which will last three years, is to increase equality among the available options for the young groups of ancient music, by offering them suitable work conditions, supporting them in the organization of tours and concerts and helping them to face the reality of ancient music market in Europe. The project is intended to encourage the circulation and international promotion of these artists and increasing the level of knowledge about this important aspect of the European musical heritage.

‘Eeemerging’ is the most recent of the European projects related to culture in which Ecocult has taken part during the last years. The first of them was Sostenuto (2019-2012), an initiative of the Programme Med focused on cultural promotion as engine for economic and social innovation which is being currently capitalised through the projects CreativeMed and 3C4Incubators.

For Econcult, the participation in this project 'Creative Europe' supposes as well a step forward in the development of its research line about the musical sector, which includes works about musical societies, the influence of musical societies in school performance and innovation in musical management.
