The Universitat de València has allocated 99.76% out of the 8.620 first grade vacancies offered for the 2017/2018 academic year. 36.089 students have chosen the Universitat de València, 15.830 of whom have chosen it as the first option. This number confirms again that this institution is the favourite among all the Valencian universities.

It is clear the leadership of the UV degrees due to the high admission marks to study many of the offered degrees. For instance, the degree in Medicine of the Universitat de València is the degree with the highest mark (12.99) of all the Valencian university system. Moreover, among the 15 degrees with the highest admission mark of all the Valencian universities, 9 correspond to degrees of the Universitat de València.

These degrees that follow Medicine are: Biochemistry (12,73), Physics (12,61), the double degree in Pharmacy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics (12,41), Odontology (12,36), the double degree in Law + Business Management and Administration (12,21), Nursing (12,13), Biotechnology (12,09), the double degree in Law + Political and Public Administration Sciences (11,99), and English Translation (11,98).

The offering of the Universitat de València for the 2017/2018 academic year was of 8.620 first grade vacancies in degrees (54) and double degrees (6).

Of the total offering of the UV, which is distributed in 54 degrees, 4 of whom are also taught in the Ontinyent Campus, and 6 double degrees, only 12 vacancies in the Degree in Information and Documentation and 9 in the Degree in Catalan Philology have not been allocated. More than 60% of the allocated vacancies correspond to the first choices and there are 27.490 students in the waiting lists. As in previous years, Medicine stands out with 2.322 people on the waiting list.

The vice-principal for Undergraduate Studies and Language Policy of the Universitat de València, Isabel Vázquez, has expressed her satisfaction regarding the pre-registration results including the new offering of the Degree in Nursing in the Ontinyent Campus, where all the vacancies have been allocated and there is a waiting list of 687 people.

According to Isabel Vázquez, the increase in the demand can be found in the three campus and in all the knowledge fields. This confirms the appropriateness of the complete and general-interest offering of the Universitat de València to the demands and needs of our society. She has also underlined the way in which the past tendency in the case of the so-called ‘basic sciences’ degrees has been inverted since they continue increasing as well as the double degrees.

Those students who got a place are now called for informative sessions, as it is explained on the website: http://links.uv.es/wYlm0ep

The management of the waiting list will be carried out online. Those students on the list who are interested in a place, should enter the electronic office of the UV and confirm, on each of the degrees in which they are in the waiting list, that they are still interested in order to be kept in the list.

The deadline for the confirmation of the first allocation will be on 24 July until 00pm. In those cases in which the confirmation is not carried out, the student will be automatically excluded from the list, missing the chance to be admitted to that degree.
