The University and business regional associations agree to work for the organization of the economic area.

A moment of the meeting.

The meeting between the different business regional associations of Valencia and the University of Valencia, which was held this Thursday in Gandia, concluded with a series of agreements that will materialize during the next spring. This meeting convened by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, and chaired by Jorge Hermosilla, has emphasized the challenge of promoting the visualization of University in its territory of influence in a strategic form and with the logic participation of local actors.

One of the main axes of this territorial implication it's the relations with businnes world. This has been the starting point of this meeting which has concluded with a series of measures. The first specific action will be the elaboration of two studies by the University of Valencia. The first of them will deal with territorial capital and the second on the relationship between the economic activities and the Valencian urban system. This works will analyze concepts such as, development of social capital, economic and social cohesion, governance, identity, social and technological innovation, sustainability, talent management, training of people, great logistics equipment, infrastructure and urban marketting. The two works will be edited to be presented in a conference expected before summer.

Business representatives who have gathered in Gandia have agreed on the need to break with the concept of sectorial business and give greater importance to territorial concept. Thus, they have manifestated the urgency of acting as soon as possible to detect the needs and lacks of Valencian territory appealing constantly to the concept of “socially responsible” territory. So, they have responded positively to the initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, since these two studies and other actions projected for the future, will provide a qualified and serious advice, and a realistic view of the current business situation from a territorial point of view.

In the meeting have participated, the Vice-Principal and the Director of CIG-UV, Josep Montesinos, a dozen representatives of regional businness associations, such as Josep V. Mascarell, director of RSC and Innovation of Balearia; Héctor Torrente, director of IBIAE Asociación de Empresarios; Rafael Juan, Chief Executive of Grupo Dulcesol; Ernesto Gómez of the Union de Mutuas; Ramón Soler; Presiden of CES ( Circle of Economics of La Safor); Rafael Pla of Proselección; or Vicente Gellida, president of ACEBM ( Regional Association of Businness of Baix Maestrat).
