The aim of this degree is to train professionals in the area of biology and provide students with a broad and general knowledge base and solid experimental training to ensure that they acquire the skills that will be required of them in the labour sector. Taking into consideration the scientific nature of biology studies, the attainment of a scientific attitude in the interpretation of our environment is considered a priority objective, so as to produce professionals with a broad perspective on the role of science in present-day society.
The combination of fieldwork and laboratory sessions in various subjects will provide students with a comprehensive and complex picture of the organizational levels of living beings. The optional subjects are divided into two academic pathways which are related to two of the most frequently selected professional pathways by degree holders: the conservation of biodiversity and the health and bio-health sector. In order to complete the final project, it is necessary to have passed the subjects corresponding to the first three academic years of the degree. The final project can be a research assignment or a scientific project with a theoretical nature; it can also be based on the compulsory external internships.
