“Possible agenda for the recovery of the Valencian economy”
Date: 10 de april de 2013 19:00 to 20:30. Wednesday.
Place: Cultural Centre of Picanya. Pais Valencia Square, 9. Picanya.
This roundtable, organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Participation and Territorial Projection of the University of Valencia and the City Council of Picanya, aims to analyse the economic keys to overcome the current economic crisis, a crisis whose dimensions are not yet quantifiable.
During the period of the housing bubble (1997-2007) the Valencian Community and Spain reached a level of virtual richness- but not real- ever lived, in which most of the energies and investments were diverted to the brick sector, that generated great profits at short-term. Meanwhile, the industrial sector, of higher temporal repercussion and greater impact on knowledge, went from the 28% Valencian GPD in 1996 to only the 14% in 2008.
With the explosion of the housing bubble that led us to the current crisis ended up the Valencian banking system and came out to light the amount of excess, corruption and abuse of the territory that it was reached. But life goes on, and now, despite the uncertainty that we are living, we must reinvent ourselves and find a new economic model, which allows us to escape from crisis and makes us stronger and more competitive.
The event is open to the general public. Certificate of attendance will be provided with registration.
