Agenda UV

This exhibition is organised by the Regional Minister for Housing, Public Works and Integration of the Territory, through the Demetrio Ribes Chair, with the collaboration of the Elche’s City Hall and is titled ‘El Baix Vinalopó. Places and Landscapes of the Public Work shows a selection of 17 patrimonial elements of the Alicante’s region.’

After a location map of the Baix Vinalopó where the chosen elements are geo-located, the exhibition follows showing them, which are distributed throughout four thematic blocks, classified in communication networks, hydraulics defence and urban bridges.

With an extended vision in the selected chronology and the typology, the exhibition intertwines elements with a great patrimonial recognition, as the Canalejas bridge and the Elche’s dam or the Escaletes tower in Santa Pola, with other less known such as the Moros little bridge in Crevillent or the coastal and anti-aircraft batteries of the Santa Pola’s cape. Also, great infrastructure in the landscape such as the Santa Pola’s port, the aeroport of El Altet or the channelling of the Vinalopó river in Elche contrast with more humble ones such as Ressemblanch tower, also in Elche, or the deposit of Prao and the bridge of Jorge Juan in Crevillent.
