The Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation and the Office of the Vice-Principal for International Relations and Cooperation, maintains the Erasmus at the Territory programme. In this fourth edition it has organised training itineraries that will allow for showing some Valencian municipalities referent for their culture and heritage.

These itineraries are addressed to the students of the Erasmus programme of the Universitat for the 2016-2017 academic year. Routes, planned in collaboration with the corresponding town councils, are intended to enlighten the Erasmus programme students about economic, cultural and landscape values of the Valencia region.

Bocairent: Mountain village of La Vall d’Albaida, established on a hill, at the foot of the Natural Park of the Sierra Mariola, it keeps the Arabian essence of its streets outline. With around 4,500 inhabitants, Bocairent traditionally bases its economic activity in the textile industry and a part-time agriculture (cereals, olive trees, fruit trees and vineyards).

Bocairent is known for its Medieval Quarter on the river and for the “Covetes dels Moros” (“Caves of the Moors”), declared a National Monument. It is also special its bullring that is partially dug out of the rock or the Cava de San Blai, a well for snow excavated dug out of the rock and that presents the particularity of being located inside the municipality.
