Conference framed in the R&D&I project “Human rights, multicultural societies and conflicts” of the Institute of Human Rights of the UV

 

The First International Conference on Cultural Diversity and Conflicts in the European Union takes place on 2 and 3 October 2014. It is organised by the Institute of Human Rights of the University of Valencia under the direction of Professor Ángeles Solanes. The conference aims to help promoting scientific discussion and exchange of views on integration and equal rights in the current multicultural societies of Europe. The sessions are open to the public upon registration and will be held in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Valencia (Avinguda Tarongers, 4B).

Recognised jurists and specialists from Spain, Italy, France and United Kingdom, as well as several social professionals, will be joining the group of professors constituting the R&D&I project “Human rights, multicultural societies and conflicts”. Urban policies, inter-ethnic violence, family relationships, intercultural mediation and representation of minorities in the cinema are some of the topics of great interest and relevance to be addressed from different perspectives of analysis and geographical scenarios.
