The University of Valencia, through the office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation and the city council of Alcublas, organized the Conference “Rural development, nature and sport” with the purpose to spread the representative issues of local society. This initiative is part of the collaboration of the University of Valencia and the Valencian local entities. In the autumn of 1937 began in Alcublas the construction of a military airfield for the air force for one of the sides, which fought in a war that should never occur. Nowadays, we see the launching of a project which aims to remember this ephemeral and intense aeronautical past of our population, but now encourage towards a different goal: to stimulate economically a municipality and a Valencian inland region devastated recently by a voracious fire.

The Alcublas aerodrome, in which its planning has prevailed the respect for the environment, will relieve the emptiness that aviation sports are suffering currently in Valencia, but also will serve to show the will of a people committed to make that their land, today wound , can provide the necessary resources to live with dignity.
