The initiative emerges from the idea as response to the fragility situation in which art education within the education system. The need of arts learning in the different levels of compulsory education must be defended.

Picasso’s Gernika filled with arguments and murals the 1980 decade and gave image to democracy in the subsequent years of the Franco dictatorship. A lot of effort has been put into it since then, although it is evident the continuous loss of the curricular presence of visual arts. It is reckless locate the training of young people just in the few upper-secondary schools with artistic offer, since this leaves the rest of the citizens without training un visual culture.

Another argument that motivates this exhibition is the education offer of the Universitat de València, which includes for five years now the training of Drawing professors in the Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teaching. Students deserve our solidarity, since we are training professionals that will be responsible of generating interest by art and culture among younger generations. Art education can become in social motor of change.
