'A Través de l’espill'. Obesity readings: medicine, art and society

The exhibition collects a selection of data and scientific and historical tables, personal narratives, documents, audiovisual material and the work of contemporary artists that offer the spectator ideas for the consideration and the debate around obesity, one of the more characteristic phenomena of contemporary society. The showing will help the spectator understand the scientific discourse on which contemporary theories and approaches are drawned: the studies about the nucleotids, proteins, fats and carbohydrates; the short step between a situation of hunger and malnutrition to a situation of excess and overfeeding, the prestige of the Mediterranean diet, etc.
