‘Caplletra’ commemorates on Wednesday at the Book Fair its 30th anniversary

‘Caplletra, Revista Internacional de Filologia’ (Caplletra, International Philology Magazine), publication of the Inter-university Institute for Valencian Language Studies (IIFV), edited with Publicaciones de la Abadía de Montserrat, commemorates this years its 30 years of existence with an act which will take place on Wednesday 27 April, at 19:30, in the Museum Room 1 of the Book Fair of Valencia at Viveros Gardens.

This activity will have the interventions of Joan Rafael Ramos, head of the Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Filology; Antoni Ferrando, head of Caplletra (1986-2001); Francesc Pérez i Moragón, editor and editorial secretary (1994-2014); Josep Miquel Manzanaro editor and current editorial secretary; and Maria Josep Marín, current head of the magazine.

Since its first publication in 1986, the magazine has appeared  continuously in Spring and Autumn.  In total, 60 published numbers, hundreds of  miscellaneous articles, monographic, reviews, with several and valuable contributions of prestigious authors of the world of language studies.

This year, which coincides withe the 30th anniversary, ’Caplletra’ has completed its digitalization and transformation to a free magazine, opened to all users, through the web site www.revistacaplletra.com, the OPS platform of publication of scientific journals of the Universitat de València and its inclusion in platforms, reference catalogues and scientists and multidisciplinary data bases.

The journal, initially established and directed by Antoni Ferrando (1986-2001), has been successively directed by Rafael Alemany (2001-2003), Joan Ponsoda (2003-2004), Vicent Simbor (2004-2010), Maria Josep Cuenca (2010-2012) and Maria Josep Marín (2012-), who have adapted it to the demands of the highest academically rated journals. Nowadays Caplletra has become a fundamental spreading instrument in the research of the language and literature in Catalan and international area, and it is, undoubtedly, a benchmark in studies about Catalan Philology.
