Mina is a thirteen-year-old orphan, who works as a maid for a wealthy family in Mumbai. Though they were split up when they were children, she never forgot her small sister, Sita. Mina will become a Bollywood actress, married to the eldest son of the family where she worked.

Finally, she will find her sister in Barcelona. But Sita's adoptive parents have erased all her past. Now her name is Paula and works as a biologist.

The Irish activist James Gralton emigrated to the United States when he was young, and this was used as an excuse to deport him in 1933 for his political activities. He became the only deported politician in Ireland history.
