Eighth anniversary of the Confucius Institute of the Universitat de València

The Confucius Institute of the Universitat de València, official centre of Chinese language and culture, celebrates its eighth anniversary with several free activities for all kinds of public (until full capacity is reached) until Saturday 28 November. Today, Friday 27 November in the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication (Blasco Ibañez St., 32), at 18:00, there will be different acts.

Today, the first act will be a conference, ‘La simbología de los números en la cultura china’ (The symbology of numbers in Chinese culture) given by professor Mu Xiuwen, accompanied by the cultural activity ‘8 recotables’ (8 cut-outs), and the premier of the commemorative video for the eighth anniversary, with a length of 8 minutes, 8 seconds. It will finish with an exhibition of selected works, exhibited in the last 8 years in the Confucius Institute. In order to complete the programme, there will be a tasting of typical sweets and drinks.

This Saturday 28, official day of the anniversary, at 11:00, in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication, there will be a Chinese magic show for kids and young people.

There will be a total of 8 activities for this eighth anniversary, giving this number all its value in Chinese symbology.
