Medal of the UV to the master and expert in multilingual education Vicent Pascual Granell

The UV will deliver a Medal to Vicent Pascual Granell, master, scholar of the multilingual education and writer. The event will take place on Friday 20 January at 12 hours, in the Paranymph, historical building of La Nau. In addition to Vicent Pascual, the dean Esteban Morcillo will also take part, as well as the professor Maria Conca, who will be in charge of reading the ‘laudatio’.

Vicent Pascual Granell (Silla, 1944) is a master, scholar of multilingual education and writer, as well as full member of the Philology section of the IEC.

The training of Vicent Pascual has a strong self-taught nature. He started his career as professor in Torrent and continued in Algemesí and Tavernes de la Valldigna. Based on his experience in classroom he became a pioneer in the elaboration of educational materials: programming, bilingual dictionaries and curriculum-related teaching materials in Valencian language.

Since 1990 he began his task of the elaboration and application of a multilingual educational model, specially in the Valencian education system. In this area he published books, programme documents and various articles in specialised magazines.

He has been language advisor in the CEFIRE of Alzira and multilingual programmes advisor in the Servicio de Enseñanzas en Valenciano (Valencian teaching Service) of the Valencian Government.

He is also author of four young adult novels, such as ‘El guardià de l’anell‘, and nowadays he is writing a book about the integrated treatment of languages and content.
