Opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year.

The courses for the Martinez Guerricabeitita Trust of the UV General Foundation will be validated for 1 or 2 elective credits.

The courses for the Martinez Guerricabeitia Trust of the UV General Foundation offers its annual curricular courses about art. The enrolment period will start tomorrow, January 12 and four courses will be offered about museology, cinema, social networks related to culture and comic books. The courses will take place between February 7 and March 23, and will be validated for 1 or 2 credits depending on their duration, for UV students.

The programme for this year will begin with 'El patrimonio cinematográfico: imagen y memoria' (The film heritage: image and memory), in which History of Art Professor Áurea Ortiz will revise cinema as an artwork, cultural and industrial product and historical document, as well as the role of the film libraries.

One of the innovations for this year is the 'Relaciones cómic/política' (Comic/Politics relation) course, given by Jose Miguel Chuliá, which will explore the ideological and aesthetic basis of the comic through European and national examples.

This year we count on the incorporation of 'El patrimonio y la gestión cultural: nuevas profesiones para las redes sociales' (Heritage and cultural management: new jobs for the social networks), given by Jorge Sebastián Lozano and by Joaquín Soler. Information and communication technology change constantly, simultaneosly giving raise to new ways to tackle old themes like culture, heritage, art and history. The course aims to complete the formation or the interest for these questions through a simple and concrete introduction to the main technological possibilities, applied to the dissemination of heritage.

The programme will be rounded off with 'Exposiciones temporales de arte contemporáneo' (Temporary exhibitions of contemporary art), given by the Faculty of Fine arts professor Isabel Tejeda, of the Universidad de Murcia, which will be dealing with the diversity of forms of art exhibitions since the 19th century until the present.
