Six art courses integrate the new training offer of Patronat Martínez Guerricabeitia for 2015

Patronat Martínez Guerricabeitia of the General Foundation of UV open today, 12 december, the lead time to join the courses that will develop between February and April in 2015. The training offer consists of six courses on art related specific issues such as funding, social action, social networking, research, conservation and planning of exhibition projects.

Courses are ten hours duration to convalidate for open credits for students of the Universitat de València. The registration period will be open from today until vacancies are filled. As what's new, two training initiatives are presented. The first one, entitled “Culture and European Funding: how to maximize the possibilities of your project”. The course will be taught by Pierre Guérin, technician in the European cooperation of the Generalitat Valenciana, on 2, 3, 4 and 5 February. Guérin made a methodological approach to establish the principles that determine the enjoyment of European subsidies and, secondly, implement a case of making a project that will include the completion of the form and the budget calculation.

 

The second, “Planning exhibition projects”, will be held on 14, 15 and 16 April, by Ruben Pacheco,technician in conversation and management of cultural heritage and exhibition commissioner and coordinator of exhibitions. The agenda will address the ideas and approaches of permanent and temporary exhibitions; participants in the process of exhibition production; expository discourse; catalog; and financing, fund, loans, insurance and other issues of documentary and legal management.

 

Restarted editions

The expert Paula Barreiro López, of the University of Barcelona, will lead the second edition of a course on historical research, entitled 'Researching and writing about Contemporary Art History: key practices' to be held on 2, 9 and 10 March. Barreiro, author of an extensive and deep study of abstract art, will provide new tools to the historian to carry out their research career. Paula Barreiro, despite his youth, has extensive experience in prestigious research institutions in Spain and Europe.

 

This year, there will also be renewed editions of the courses “Artistic Mediation: social action through art” (16, 17 and 18 February), by Elizabeth Català, social and expert educator in transmodal art therapy; “The heritage and cultural management: new professions for social networks” (25, 26 and 27 February), taught by Jorge Sebastian (Department of Art History at the Universitat de València) and Chimo Soler (historian and member of the Board of the Internet Society ISOC-se Spain); and “Mixed media: techniques, materials, alteration and preservation of contemporary art” (23, 24 and 25 March), by Mayte Pastor, director of conservation and restoration of painting and art conservation and restoration of contemporary art heritage.

All courses, except of artistic mediation, Elizabet Català, to be held in the Aula Seminari B La Nau Cultural Centre (Street Universidad, 2) shall be covered in the training room of the building of the General Foundation of the Universitat de València (calle Amadeu de Savoia, 4-1a floor), located on the campus of Blasco Ibáñez.
