The sixth edition of the Summer Seminars begins with the prospect of its consolidation and of the intensification of inter-agency cooperation and its projection beyond the summer time with other training and cultural activities. We are therefore faced with a commitment and a hopeful, strong and powerful support to the rural world by the organizers.

And this time, the thread of education and learning runs through different seminars from a frankly vocational perspective, because we need to promote good learning and working as both dynamics raise and involve training towards autonomy and self-government, and above all, in them is the beginning of dialogue between women and men with the contents and processes ... and handcrafted as well, that should promote at least three actions-skills: locating, investigating and disclosing, as Sennett points out: "The first involves giving concreteness to a subject, the second, reflecting on its qualities, the third, extending its meaning". And these two dimensions drive the arrow of continuing education that runs through them and, moreover, constitutes them by the process of experiencing the thought and thinking the experience: 'to think is to do.'

And so then, we need to place ourselves in the open and dynamic process of training both ourselves and others in the skills and expertise necessary to resume the thread of vocational and handcrafted education because they both place us on 'the specifically human condition of commitment', a commitment that is growing almost absent in education and training, but a commitment to which we must return, for it allows us to teach and learn the future, as Walter Benjamin wrote for us.
